#HaiHaiTO: Toronto for Haiti
Do You Want to Do Some Good?
Haiti needs help, and #HaiHaiTO came out of a collective burning desire to do more. We have all seen the tragedy unfold, lives lost and families shattered, heard desperate calls for help. We can do more to help Haiti as a community, than any one of us ever could as individuals. It’s time we unite forces and act as a community should – let’s come together and do some good – for Haiti.
What is HaiHaiTO
- #HaiHaiTO is how you can help to raise funds for the earthquake-torn country.
- #HaiHaiTO is a fundraiser event supporting the disaster relief effort in Haiti and celebrating Haitian culture and spirit. The night will kick off with great performances from local artists and a few words from Toronto Haiti Action Committee, and sweep you off your feet on a dancefloor
- #HaiHaiTO is about coming together as a community in difficult times of need. It’s about humanity.
Here’s how we are going to raise twice as much as you give
Every dollar donated by you between January 12 and February 12, 2010 to registered Canadian charitable organizations responding to Haiti earthquake will be matched by the Canadian government (up to $50 million). #HaiHaiTO is tentatively scheduled for February 11, 2010, and the proceeds will go to Red Cross Canada. That puts us all in a great position to raise twice as much as you give.
Just as relief efforts are feverishly underway, so are the preparations for this event and details will be shared on twitter and this site as they become available. If you want to get involved as a volunteer, sponsor, donor, or inquire about this event, please send a quick email to Michel Savoie.
